The Project

First thing on Friday morning, Nifty Business Movers arrive at New Bond Street. Nifty were helping to relocate the Belstaff office to Ineos Headquarters at Britten Street. To relocate Belstaff, the move included the transportation of various items, such as: fashion design equipment, IT equipment, furniture, filing, and much more.

Fashion Design Equipment

The Nifty team are fully experienced to handle the movement of specialist items, including valuable, awkward, heavy or fragile items. In order to relocate Belstaff, the fashion design equipment required the upmost care during transportation. Items included: sewing machines and other manufacturing equipment, drafting tables, mannequins, as well as various other materials and accessories. Nifty Business Movers ensures a full audit of all items, always packages in padded protection and stores in specialist secure crates.

IT Equipment

In order to safely and efficiently relocate IT equipment, Nifty follow a rigorous process. This process normally starts four weeks prior to the move. One of Nifty’s experienced IT technicians will liaise with the company’s manager to familiarise themselves with the systems and safety procedures. Sometimes the team even attend internal meetings, at the request of the company, to assist with planning. Careful planning is essential in order to fulfil Nifty’s guarantee…you will be fully operational on the first day at your new offices!

IT Relocation Process

The first step is to audit all the equipment that will be moving to the new office. At this stage, it is also useful to determine if any hardware requires specialist disposal. The equipment will also be subject to pre-move testing to ensure it is working ahead of the office relocation.

The team then log and label all printers, scanners, desktops, laptops, monitors and other associated accessories. In addition, the team will also assign each work station with a unique reference number and create an inventory of all IT equipment at each position. Following the audit, it is time to decommission the equipment by powering down and disconnecting all cables. The team wrap and pack all the in secure crates, which Nifty provide Free of Charge.

Upon arrival at the new offices, the team ensure all items are present, they connect all the cables and everything is in full working order. This includes checking the diagnostics and network when powering up.

Furniture

Nifty Business Movers can dismantle furniture in advance or on the day of the office move. Depending on the shape, size and weight of the items, some of the access points may require protection. For the purposes of health and safety, Nifty ensure that only fully trained movers are responsible for the transportation of heavy goods. Furthermore, all furniture is empty during transfer and the team use removal blankets for protection.

Filing

Wherever possible, Nifty use crates that allow the entire contents of one shelf of filing to pack into one crate. All crates, belonging to the same original storage unit, are part of the same inventory. For unpacking, the contents are simply returned to their original shelves in the reverse of the order they were packed.
